A Story of the Heaviest Love Letter in History
Once upon a time, there was a man who had two sons and a bunch of butlers. The father was very kind and tender with his sons and everyone. One day, pride got the better of one of the chief butlers, he forgot his place and before he knew it, he was dislodged and kicked out of the house together with all of his co-conspirators.
The deserved banishment didn't go down well with the unfaithful butler at all, thus he aggravated the situation by scheming a retaliation. In retaliation, the butler tricked the youngest son into rebelling against his father. Unfortunately, the rebellion was offensive enough to leave the father with no choice but to oust his child from the house as well.
The father grieved deeply over his son for a very long time though the son seemed to forget about his family and move on as time went by. Although the father never regretted expelling his son, he never gave up on him. As a matter of fact, he began to orchestrate a series of events that would eventually lead to reconciliation with him not long after the expulsion.
Of all things the father did in an attempt to get his son back, one thing is absolutely incomparable and worthy of high praise. He penned an emotionally hefty love letter, which his apathetic son couldn’t help but be forever moved by, and had his first and remaining son deliver it. This delivery was not an easy task, it took a three-year-long and tiring journey.
That letter was peculiar in many ways. First of all, it was made in the most durable and heavy materials the writer could possibly get—undecaying parchment and unfading crimson red ink. Secondly, the words had been written meticulously with sharp strokes bold enough to be easily read by anyone. Thirdly and most importantly, the letter carried a priceless seal. To this day, no other love letter of its kind has ever been found anywhere in the universe.
In case you have not figured it out, the Father is God, the evil butler is Satan, the first Son is Jesus, and the rebellious son was me. The content of that letter is The Passion of Jesus. The undecaying parchment is the beautiful Cross of Jesus. The pen was the rugged nails, the flagrum, the crown of thorns, and the spear that pierced my Savior’s body. The unfading ink is the Blood of Jesus, and the seal is the three mighty words He uttered as He hung on the Cross and paid my debt in full: IT IS FINISHED.
